West Barok is a group of singers and players from the South West of England who explore music of the baroque period. They seek to bring to audiences an authentic period character to their musical performance.
They were formed in 2008 by Brian Northcott and Alison Burnett, who have been performing and directing music in the UK and abroad for many years.
The professional instrumentalists use period instruments and so performances take on an appropriate original feel.
The repertoire is varied, with music ranging from Bach to Zelenka - well known and rarely heard.
